Special Extracts
Some of our favorite and most special extracts are selected for their unique healing powers and are not found in other natural skin care lines that we have seen on the market. These include (among many others) the following:
Astaxanthin Extract
A potent antioxidant found in Hawaiian red algae — has been shown to reduce the formation of pigmentation resulting from stress and age, which can lead to dark spots and uneven skin tone. Combined with a high concentration of red raspberry seed oil, it also offers broad-spectrum UV protection.
Reishi Mushroom Extract
A staple in traditional Chinese medicine — translates to “spiritual potency,” and is known as the herb of immortality because of its deeply restorative powers. These powers are due to the high polysaccharide content, the carbohydrate responsible for skin’s ability to retain water and that is also imperative for skin repair and renewal. Reishi mushroom extract offers additional skin benefits including reducing inflammation, puffiness, wrinkles and free-radical damage, while also promoting cell regeneration.
Tamarind Seed Extract
Tamarind seed has been found to outperform hyaluronic acid in skin moisturization, smoothing fine lines and plumping skin. It boosts skin elasticity, and provides intense hydration. Tamarind seed extract has also been found to contain important anti-aging factors including alpha hydroxy acids, sugar enzymes and collagen fibers.
Tamanu Oil
Tamanu oil, or Calophyllum inophyllum, is derived from the Tamanu tree indigenous to tropical Southeast Asia. Thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, this oil is particularly well-suited to treating acne and skin imperfections. A high concentration of moisturizing omega fatty acids hydrates skin and promotes new, healthy cell growth.
Calendula Succus Extract
This special extract is the pressed juice from the aerial parts of the plant (those that are completely exposed in air). Its incredibly gentle healing properties soothe skin, particularly for those experiencing symptoms of eczema, dermatitis and redness. By promoting the production of collagen, Calendula also aids in sustaining youthful glowing skin.
