Vanilla Leaf Flower Essence

Flower essences are a type of homeopathic preparation that contain no essential oils or aromatic compounds. The plant is placed in spring water for many hours, whereby its subtle energies (or essence) are released into the water. This energetic imprint is then absorbed by the skin to balance the mind and soothe the nerves for a self-care ritual that tends to both your external and internal wellbeing. Our skin line seeks to address emotional health as well as skin functions, because emotions play a critical role in how our skin behaves. Vanilla leaf flower essence is featured in almost every product because it is linked to groundedness, self-esteem/self-acceptance and desire to reach our full potential by knowing our worthiness. Vanilla leaf is an herb of the Pacific Northwest. Once the plant’s leaves have been dried, it smells and tastes like vanilla, hence the name.

Tocopherols are structurally different from tocotrienols and more commonly found in natural oil ingredients. Our tocopherol (extracted from non-GMO sunflower seeds) protects from UV damage, pollution and helps restore skin’s lipid barrier and prevent hyperpigmentation. Tocotrienol (extracted from sustainable red palm oil) has been shown to be 40-60 times higher in antioxidant potency than tocopherol. Its topical benefits reverse or slow damage caused by exposure to free radicals, restore the lipid barrier to prevent visible signs of aging and promote a youthful appearance.

Vitamins C & E

Vitamins C & E are antioxidants, meaning they fortify skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure, air pollution and other environmental stressors. Vitamin C also inhibits melanin production, which helps address hyperpigmentation, even skin tone and enhance radiance. The Mayo Clinic conducted a study proving that topical Vitamin C enhances the quality and synthesis of collagen in skin to keep it plump and supple. The greatest effect of vitamin C is seen when it is combined with other micro-nutrients, such as vitamin E.
