What is your OHA Moment?

You know those moments when it all just clicks – those ‘aha!’ moments.

Well, your skin can have those too. We like to call it an OHA Moment.

Maybe it happens suddenly – like when you’re washing your face. You take the day off, and and feel wonderful and fresh and clean as you put on moisturizer. Or maybe it sneaks up on you, like it did for me. I used to struggle with dry, flaky skin that still broke out through the seasonal transition into winter. Once I started using OHA, my skin stopped being unhappy – coming out of my first winter using OHA, I realized my skin had been happy and moisturized throughout the whole cold winter season. No dryness or flakes, just happy, balanced skin. Aaaaah! (see below for my favorite OHA routine!)

red-scribble-heart ohamomentWe want to hear about your OHA Moment! Do you have a story about how OHA helped your skin? Do you feel a special connection to an OHA product? How does OHA make you feel, and how do you like to use it?

My OHA routine: I start and end my day with the Cleansing Milk. In the mornings, I follow it with the CoQ10 & Argan Face Cream, or Sensitive Skin Therapy if I feel a breakout coming. Then I mix some Green Tea Cleansing Milk and Intensive Nutrient Complex (or Advanced Treatment Serum in the winter), and massage into my face and neck.

At night, after I cleanse and exfoliate, I use the Under Eye Therapy, and then apply my cocktail of Green Tea Cleansing Mist, Night Cream, and Intensive Nutrient Complex. About once a week I also treat myself to a mask with the Supercritical Co2 Gel Mask. My skin’s never been happier!

#OHA101: Super Foods For Super Skin

Eat Your Way to Healthy Skin

You are what you eat. Everyone has heard this phrase many times before, and research has shown it is certainly true. Dermatologists like Dr. Jessica Wu, MD., say that research shows one’s diet can affect their complexion and hormone balance. Certain power foods can work wonders for your body, especially your skin. In fact, what you eat is just as important as what you apply topically to your skin.

Here are some superfoods for super skin:

blog5_olive oil_huffpostOlive Oil – Olives and olive oil are packed with anti-oxidant polyphenols that help shield against damaging free radicals. In addition, most of the fat content in olive oil is mono-saturated fatty acid which rejuvenates your skin and helps it look youthful. Topically, using unrefined olive oil helps relieve, repair, and hydrate extra dry skin by helping to rebuild the skin’s moisture barrier. This helps prevent further moisture loss and possibly reduce damage that causes wrinkles and discoloration.

blog5_greentea_creativebeautyhealthGreen Tea – Rich in antioxidants, the polyphenols in green tea make the skin more elastic, smooth, and less sensitive to sun damage when exposed to UV rays. ECGC (epigallocatechin-3-gallete) boosts blood flow and oxygen to the skin, delivering key ingredients to keep your skin looking healthy. Green tea has so much to offer that researchers are continually conducting studies to uncover its benefits.

blog5_Sunflowerseedoil_organicfacts.netSunflower Seed Oil – Growing in popularity, sunflower seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, including stearic acid and linoleic acid. Sunflower seeds and sunflower oil are rich in Vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant in the body. It helps keep your skin elastic, and clear of blemishes and pimples.

Also, vitamin E is related to improving skin health and regenerating cells. Antioxidants like vitamin E neutralize free radicals that can produce cancerous cells. Vitamin E in sunflower seeds and sunflower oil is also thought to enhance immune function, and is known for its sun protection against UVB damage.

Many of OHA’s products use these superfoodsand more in combination, making your skin smooth and glowing. Find these power foods in OHA’s Night Cream, Sensitive Skin Therapy, Daily Moisturizer, and Under Eye Therapy.
